Home stretch! C'mon!
Apr. 27th, 2008 11:22 pmThis is it, guys. The Revlon Run/Walk is THIS Saturday! ('Oh thank goodness,' I can hear some of you thinking. 'Then she'll shut up.' ;-) )
Last year the Run/Walk set a new record by distributing nearly $2.7 million to beneficiaries dedicated to medical research, treatment and support services for the brave women and their families fighting cancer. This year the bar's even higher with the goal to distribute $3 million.
Please be a part of that effort. Go to my fundraising page and help me meet my own much smaller goal! (My employer will match 50% of your tax-deductible donation.) I know some people who join us have terrible stories to tell about personal battles with cancer, or tales of loved ones they've lost; I've been very lucky not to be amongst their number. (The cancer I've tangled with was piddly little carcinoma, which is an equal opportunity cancer, especially for those of us who've been out in the sun too much.) I'd love for everyone I know to be so lucky. What we raise in this annual push contributes to the research that might make that possible.
If you are not comfortable using the online donation form, you can either print out a form from the website and mail that in (my bib number is 287), or find me and we can take care of it face to face. Cash is always good!
Please help if you can. If you have any questions, ask. And apologies to my recent anonymous donor, if you're one of the LJ crowd. I appreciate your generous donation. Please ignore this bleat. :-)
