Goodbye, dochyel. I will always remember you as I last saw you, at Lunacon, surrounded by friends and making music and being silly onstage at the HP roast. 48....dammit. ::raises a dram of Aberlour a'bunadh in your honour::
Everyone is posting everywhere about David. I take some small comfort in the fact that he got to play Dumbledore and just recently did a concert for and with his friends. Heaven just got more rock&roll, and we will miss him desperately.
You were taking pictures at his lobby concert, weren't you? I know someone was. I'm pretty sure it was you... Those pictures need to be seen. As soon as is feasible, even. If you can get some in a place for people to see, or get them to someone so they can be seen, that would be a great thing.
I didn't realize until I read this post that dochyel was David Honigsberg - terri_osborne didn't mention his RL name. I read about his death on the SMOFS list, and I was shocked. I didn't really know him, but we exchanged numerous emails back in 2002/2003 because he was on several of the panels I administered for Torcon 3.
Hmm. It was hard to leave the cemetery, but ...it was a beautiful little hill. We were there on one of the nicest days we've had this year, and we were surrounded by hints that spring was coming. So while it was hard to leave, at the same time, I choose to remember what an interesting, lovely place Green-Wood is.
Did you happen to notice, at the main gate, that we were being serenaded by a colony of monk parakeets? I consulted with a birder friend and he says that that cemetery is the first and oldest northern colony of these birds. On a dark day, a splash of bright feathers and a mirthful noise.

And you did good on the List.
